Bipasha at Kolkata Fashion Week
It's the season for ramp shows, when designers unveil their collection, and people get their share of entertainment – some through the collection launched, whilst others though the beautiful girls walking down the ramp. It's a joy in itself after all, isn't it? But rare are the moments when people get to see what can be the expected the least. Ah, don't get ideas now – not a wardrobe malfunction for sure. The ongoing Kokata Fashion Week showed some thing different, but the impact to many must have been more than a wardrobe malfunction. People present during the show must have known what the lines are intended to say.

Back in the city of joy, it was not just the models who had walked for fashion designer duo, Mona-Pali, this time, nay, the show also had some one very special. The much awaited Fashion Week patronized by an eclectic collection of Indian culture that combined with contemporary silhouettes and textures based on Indian art and craft traditions, had none other than the very own Bengali-bombshell – yes, you guess it right – Bipasha Basu.

Basu, dressed as quintessential Bengali bride, stole the show with her show stopper act for fashion designer duo, Mona-Pali.The actress said, "What I love about this particular outfit tonight is it has the essence of our culture. At the same time it is very modern. It is for the modern Indian women". Basu added, "We are using the artistry, which is from our roots, but at the same time we are presenting the Indian women in various shades. I am very happy with the kind of work people are doing." Guess, the euphoria was much more among the people watching the show. After all, you don't get to see actors like Bipasha Basu draped in a sari every other day, do you?

Along with Basu there were others who shared the ramp. Sagarika Ghatke, the one who had featured in shimit amin's, Chak De India, was one of them. The actor walked the ramp for Soumitra Mondal. At least 35 of the country's top models will sashay down the ramp during the four-day show that concludes on Sunday.
