The candidate is expected to explore the crannies, both on land and underwater, the tourism is offering the work in the Hamilton Island with duties that do not include litter-picking and sieving leaves and other detritus from the pool. The work is adventurous in nature. According to the insistence of the island bosses, the eventful incumbent will be paid for the exploration of the crannies both on land and under water of 600 islands, and report back through a fortnightly Internet diary with photos and video.

The final ten short-listed candidates will be selected along with a 'wildcard' entry by onlne public vote. The four-day interview starting on May 3 will be conducted on the islands dotted along the Great Barrier Reef.
