The search of Tourism Queensland has finally come to an end. Ben Southall has won the Best Job in the World Contest. The 34-year-old will now be able to spend the next half of the year as a caretaker on an island in Queenland, Australia.

TQ's official website congratulated the champ in a formal announcement made at Hamilton Island resort, and now the 34-year-old will begin his job as caretaker of the Great Barrier Reef Islands on July 1, reports the Courier Mail. Ben also gets an award money of 150,000 dollars for his six month stint when he will explore the neighboring island, swim, snorkel, discover wildlife and everything that makes it adventurous. He will also have to post his work in blogs and internet.

Ben credited other 15 final contestants – one from India – Anjaan RJ – saying each one of them 'had been an absolute winner - it is an extreme honour and I hope I will live up to the role".
