World's Largest 'Kissathon' In Venice
The most romantic city in the world, Venice is all set to create a world record. The new year 2009 is going to witness 70,000 revelers exchanging kisses in St Mark's Square at midnight.

The previous year saw 60,000 people exchanged kisses and the organizers of "LoVe 2009" aim to out do the record. Described by Napoleon as "the drawing room of Europe", the historic square will have people gathering from 10 pm and will offer the participants with step by step instruction on a perfect kiss.

Later, the night will see a heart shaped firework display and midnight live jazz concert. This is in a hope to improve Venice's image after the St Mark's Square was submerged by severe high tide flood at the beginning of the month. This lead to the tourists canceling their hotel bookings.

The first "kiss-in" organized the previous year won Venice an international prize for the best New Year's event. AGENCIES
