On the eve of Christmas, popular sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik has sculpted a 25 feet long festivals,sand sculpture,santa claus. He has also sculpted Jesus Christ and both the sculptures are at display at the Golden Beach of Puri. The artist accomplished the feat in order to spread the message of love and peace.

The artists and his 15 helper students worked dedicatedly on Wednesday, Christmas eve. After 600 tonnes of sand and 30 hours of work, the spectacular work was completed. "This festivals,sand sculpture,santa claus is made to spread the message of peace and harmony amongst the people on the occasion of Christmas," said Sudarshan Patnaik.

Sudarshan used colored sand for the sculpture and created a live size image of Santa distributing gifts in the form of love and peace. The Jesus sculpture is shown moving across the globe. With his masterpiece, Sudarshan hopes to enter the Limca Book of Records.

The sculpture has already drawn various onlookers and admirers and will stay on display until 1st January. Sudarshan's art festival is also providing a large crowd puller. "It"s amazing. It is wonderful. The artist who made it is really brilliant because the expression in the face. I can't imagine how he made it and how he designed it. I'm impressed by your culture," said Aafke Laumans, a tourist from Holland on the beach.

Sudarshan is a world champion with over a 37 national and international competitions in which he has participated. He has won various awards and his previous year's creation of Jesus and Santa placed him on the Limca Book of Records.
