Brought out by Sa Re Ga Ma, the selection is interspread with some of the greatest songs celebrating the country national identity; such as 'Vande Mataram', 'Sare Jahan Se Acchha' and 'Vaishnav Jan Toh'; the songs which were at the core of the Indian freedom movement.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ansari said, "The Voices of Freedom are the Voices of India". Describing the valuable compact disc a commendable exercise, he said the CD should reach every school in the country.
The launch featured a play-back of excerpts from the speeches and songs which vividly brought alive the fervor and emotion from times gone by.
Dr Karan Singh and Mr R P Goenka, chairman of RPG Enterprises which brought out the CD, also spoke on the occasion.
