After more than four decades of her death, Marilyn Monroe continues to make news even today. The stars legendary photographs were auctioned for a shocking 146,500 dollars at Christie's in New York.

These photos were the last one's taken in the year 1962, about two weeks before she died. The actress had posed for 36 shots to be featured in the Vogue magazine.

After her death, these photos were featured in the magazine as a memorial. The Blond icon continues to be the most sought after in the glamor world even after she no longer exists.

Meanwhile, Monroe's heir, Anna Strasberg, was fined 200,000 dollars, after a judge accused her of "unacceptable shenanigans" in a legal battle over licensing the legendary actress' famous photos.

Marilyn Monroe was a screen siren who ruled the male fantasy in the 50's, she starred in movies like 'Bus stop', 'Gentlemen prefer blondes' , 'Niagra' and various others and was known for her 'dumb blonde' image. Her death claimed to be a suicide due to drug overdose was ruled out and but continues to be a mystery.
