Indore, May 9 (UNI) A local court today issued summons to actress-turned-sports anchor Mandira Bedi on a petition that charged her for insulting the Indian national flag.

Judicial Magistrate Shubhra Singh issued summons to Mandira, dress designer Puneet Nanda and a private TV channel under the prevention of insults to National Honour Act, 1971, and asked them to appear before the court on June 20.

Earlier, petitioner Indrajeet Singh Bhatiya's counsels Dilip Verma and Mahendra Verma presented arguments before the court.

A sari, worn by Mandira on a TV program, had the tricolour printed at the bottom. The anchor later apologised for her ''inadvertent'' mistake.
