E-book on cricket

Chennai, Mar 7 (UNI) It's World Cup time again and innovations to attract the average cricket fan are many like giant screens in public places and putting the action live online.

But this one is unique brought out by a Chennai-based 'Skilworth Technologies' which works on new ideas: ''cricketology,'' an 'e-book' (www.cricketology.com), which gives an in-depth education on cricket or rather the Art and Science of cricket. The average cricket fan is thus ''empowered'' to make logical prediction on the game vis a vis the cricket experts who watch thousands of hours of cricketing action live, listen to gurus, debate the finer points of selection and weigh the pros and cons.

According to 'Skilworth Technologies' CEO Pavan Kachibhatla, 'cricketology,' aimed at a core audience in the 8-16 age group, is a three-step approach to fully understand cricket combining education, entertainment and enterprise. Each chapter is associated with a subject like chemistry, biology, history, geography, management, psychology and statistics. Each of these 'subjects' is authored by an eminent cricket writer.

An average cricket fan can register free on the website and then buy the book or individual lessons as a download, according to Mr Pavan.

''The idea is to make cricket relevant for kids and drive home the point to parents that there is something to learn through cricket,'' he said.
