Ash-Abhi to marry before March 14
Varanasi, Jan 15 (UNI) An astrolger-cum-Sanskrit scholar, who had termed the November 27 visit of the Bachchans and Aishwarya Rai to the temple city as 'fruitless' today suggested the Ash-Abhishek marriage should take place before March 14 on any auspicious date that does not fall on Tuesday.
''Although the mangal dosh of Ash as claimed by Bangalore based astrolger Chandrashekhar Swamy has been eliminated through her symbolic marriage with a banana tree, the actual marriage must definitely take place on any of the auspicious date, before March 14, which does not fall on Tuesday,'' Dr Kameshwar Upadhyaya, national convenor of Akhil Bharatiya Vidwat Parishad told UNI here today.
Interestingly, Dr Upadhyaya, a former lecturer of Jyotish Shastra department at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) here is also the cousin of Acharya Chandramauli Upadhyaya -- the family astrolger of the Bachchans, who led a team of 'purohits' to perform various 'Anushthans' for the filmy family at the Sankatmochan and Kashi Vishwanath temples early on November 27 last year.
Dr Upadhyaya had then questioned the fruitfulness of the entire visit saying if it was aimed at addressing Ash' 'Mangal Dosh,' none of the requisite rituals were performed in the temple city.
''The Bangalore based astrologer Mr Swamy has claimed Aishwarya's mangal dosh has been addressed by symbolically marrying her with a banana tree. If his claim is true then as per texts of Vedic Karmakanda, the mangal dosh which could result in widowhood for Ash has been addressed and the marriage will now be successful,'' Dr Upadhyaya added.
He, however, said the 'kadli vivah' (Ash marriage with banana tree) followed up by prayers at Siddhi Vinayak temple in Mumbai, Brahma temple in Puskar and today's 'pujan' at the Makaleshwar temple in Ujjain will only be fruitful if Ash-Abhishek marriage is solemnised within three months or by March 14, which will mark the arrival of 'Kharmas' (inauspicious period).
Besides, failure to solemenise the marriage before March 14 will mean that it takes place in the Hindu new year 'Nav Samvatsar' starting March 20. ''This Nav Samvatsar comprising 13 months instead of the usual 12, will start of with the Adhik Jyestha Maas or the extra month when no auspicious occasions are conducted,'' he added.
''The period between January 14 and March 14 is divided into two auspicious groups January 14 to February 14 when Capricorn will enter the sun and February 15 to March 14 when Aquarius enters sun.
There are many auspisious dates on which the marriage can take place, but wedlock should not be solemnised on any auspicious date, which falls on Tuesday,'' he added.
''February 19, the date which is doing rounds in the media is a very auspicious date for the marriage,'' he maintained.
Meanwhile, Srikant Mishra, the 'purohit' who performed the Abhishek Pujan for the Bachchans and Ash at the world famous Kashi Vishwanath temple expressed happiness over the news of Ash and Abhishek's engagement ceremony which took place at the doe-eyed former Miss World's Juhu residence last evening.
''When we saw Ash accompany the entire Bachchan clan to the temple to visualise the Mangala Arti and perform the Abhishek Pujan we were of a strong belief that there was something much more than the routine prayers. Last evening happenings have proved our belief right,'' he said.
The 'purohit' also hoped that Ash accompanies the entire Bachchan clan once again to the temple after the marriage.
