Chandigarh, Oct 26 (UNI) The Haryana government has constituted a state-level committee to organise and oversee progress in connection with the commemoration of the 2550th Anniversary of Mahaprinirvana of Lord Buddha.

An official spokesman today said the ten-member committee, which had been constituted under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, would arange seminars on the life sketch of Lord Buddha at university, college and school level.

Simultaneously, the committee would also work towards establishing a chair of Lord Buddha in one of the universities of the state.

The other members of the committee would be the Education Minister, the Minister of State for Tourism and Forests, the Chief Parliamentary Secretary, the Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Education, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Public Relations, Tourism and Culture, Vice Chancellor, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Vice Chancellor, Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak and Director Haryana Sahitya Akademi.

The Member Secretary of the Committee would be the Director, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs.
