Shimla, Dec 3 (UNI) Floriculture products from Himachal are becoming one of the most sought after products. The Himachal government is now making efforts to export Cornation flower, which is so far not being exported from the state.
According to Agriculture and Processed Food Produces Export Development Authority (APEDA) officials, the Himachal flowers, which were displayed at the recently concluded Horti fair at Amsterdam, got a good response from buyers all over the world.
To explore the possibility of exporting the Cornation flowers from Himachal, today, a meeting with International Floriculture Experts and Flower Growers of the State was held at Shimla under the chairmanship of Mr J P Negi, Principal Secretary.
Mr Negi stressed the need to produce quality flowers. He also said that cultivation of flowers has vast opportunity from lower to higher altitude and variety may be selected accordingly.
He stressed the need to form Flower Producer Association at District, State and National levels and also take part in Horti fairs and exhibitions organised from time to time, so that they could be equipped with the latest marketing and quality of flowers.
