Hair Loss In Dogs: Foods To Avoid
Hair loss is one of the main problems that affect pet dogs. The main reason for hair loss in pets is the food they eat. When their diet contains too much of sodium, it leads to hair loss. This can be avoided if you are aware of some of the other foods too which your pet should not eat.
It is a common practice for pet owners to feed their pets with whatever is on their plate or the left overs. You should know that when you have pets at home, there are some foods which can cause extreme irritation on their skin. When their skin irritates, it makes them itch, this in turn causes hair fall too. Pet dogs should avoid foods that lead to irritation and hair loss.
If your pet is furry in nature, you should make sure that he maintains that perfect coat of hair. It is the duty of the owner to be aware of what foods have to be avoid in your dog's diet.
So, to prevent hair loss in dogs, here are some of the foods to avoid. Take a look and do make it a point to share it with other pet owners as well:

Salt
Although salt is an important ingredient in our dishes, it should not be a part of your dog's diet. Excess salt in your pet's food causes hair loss. Therefore, it is best to avoid sprinkling salt in your pets meal.

Sugar
They will drool at the sight of sweets. Yes, dogs too have a sweet craving. But, they are unaware of it being a bad food for them to eat. Having too many sweets causes hair loss in dogs.

Corn
There are some pets who are allergic to corn and there are some who aren't. If your dog is allergic to corn, it is best to avoid this food as it has a lot of salt and sweet content which will lead to hair loss.

Wheat
Salt is present in wheat. It is best to stick to maida if you are feeding your pet dog rotis. Wheat has salt which will lead to hair loss in your pet.

Barley
Malt barley is one of the ingredients which you should avoid giving your pet dog. Malt barley is a natural sweetener which is used by many around the world. Therefore, it is advisable not to add malt barley to your pet's meal.

Spicy Food
Though your pet may love the taste of spicy food, it is not good for his coat! Spicy foods cause rapid hair loss in pets. If you have been treating your pet dog with spicy dishes, it is best to stop immediately.

Eggs
Some of the dairy products are not advisable for dogs to consume. There are some breeds of dogs which are allergic to egg yolk and thus it causes them to itch, leading to hair loss.

Ghee
There are many families who substitute cooking oil with ghee. When you prepare your pet's dish, add in oil and avoid ghee.

Onion
Onions, is the main ingredient for any dish like salt, need to be avoided in your pets menu. Onion juice causes hair loss in dogs, so it is best to avoid it!

Dates
Dried dates is another food to avoid if you want your pet to have a nice coat of fur on its back. Consumption of dried fruits too should be kept to a minimum.
