Men need dogs that suit their personality. It is rare for men to be seen with lapdogs for cute cuddly dogs. The dogs for men usually have distinct masculine qualities. If you take a look at a park where people walk their dogs, you will notice that women come with furry and cute dogs, while men come with large and fierce dog breeds.
Dogs for men are often large, aggressive and watchdog breeds. This is primarily because men don't keep dogs to have a company. Dogs for men must be intelligent enough to be their friends. But women usually have dogs just to shower affection on them. It makes their maternal instincts kick. While this cannot be considered a blanket statement for all cases, but dogs for men are usually masculine themselves.
First of all, dog breeds that men prefer are large. Secondly, they are active. Dogs for men usually give them some good exercise. These dogs can race, fetch and also acts as guards for homes.

Rottweiler
Rottweilers are specifically 'manly' because of their affinity towards men. Whether your Rottweiler is a 'he' or 'she', it will take orders only from the man of the house.

Mastiff
Mastiff's are masculine just by sheer size. When they are well-trained, they are loyal and great watchdogs. But a badly trained mastiff is a dangerous animal to have at home.

Boxer
Boxers are not exactly a watchdog. They are huge and very fierce looking but their nature is sweet and friendly. Boxers make great friends and will be good companions for men living alone.

German Shepherd
German Shepherds are by far the most intelligent dogs you will come across. If you want a worthy friend and companion, you would have to have German Shepherd.

Doberman Pinscher
The Doberman looks formidable with its height and size. It is very athletic dog that needs lots of exercise. A Doberman will be your best jogging mate.

Pit bull
No, its not the rapper we are talking about. Pit bull is a huge American dog breed. Pit bulls are basically attack dogs and quick to get into a fight. If you need a dog to intimidate your neighbours, then this one is ideal.

Labrador Retriever
Normal Labrador are childish and sweet dogs that are not very aggressive. But Labrador retrieves are both smart and fierce. They are not dangerous dogs but can be a great company for you because of their intelligence.

Greyhound
The greyhound is a very smart dog that makes no mess. Normally, it is difficult to leave dog at home without damaging your home. But greyhounds never chew on remote controls or tear up cushions. They are the best dogs for single men.

Bull Dog
Bull dogs are large and hefty dogs who are known for their strength and intelligence. A bull dog will be formidable watchdog and also become a part of your guy gang.

Siberian Husky
The Siberian Husky is a mountain dog with lots of fur. They are excellent runners and very intelligent dogs. If you live in a cold country, you can surely have a huskie at home.
