A pet is an extension of one's family and you may want to provide the best care for your pet. A comfortable bed for your pet is very essential to keep them cozy and to provide a good sleep, rather a nap during their little hours of rest after keeping an attentive vigil.

Dog beds have to be chosen carefully with regards to the type of the bed and the size keeping in mind the breed and the size of your dog.

Dog Bed Types

Pillow or cushions Dog Beds

These are the most commonly used dog beds that are found in rectangular, square or round shapes in different sizes. They are stuffed with poly foam, foam or cedar chips. If your dog dislikes or is allergic to cedar chip, you may omit them.

Medium breed dogs like Australian Cattle Dog, Cocker Spaniel, Finnish Spitz, Bulldogs, and Keeshond will need a pillow bed size of at least 35" long by 35" wide.

Larger breeds like Akita, Chows, Dalmatian, Doberman, Pinscher, English Setter, Golden Retriever, and Siberian Husky need at least 45" long by 45" wide.

Great Dane, Great Pyrenees, Irish wolfhound that are extra large dogs will need atleast 50" long by 50" wide pillow beds.

Nest Dog Beds

These are also referred to as cuddler or donut dog beds. This dog bed consists of a deep soft pillow or a cushion encompassed by a sturdy wall made of stuffed fabric, wicker, wood or plastic. These are idle for dogs to curl up during cold climate to keep them warm.

Extra small dogs like small terriers, Chihuahuas, Poodle and other miniature and teacup breeds will need at least 19" long by 19" wide and a diameter of 22" nest beds.
