So, in such a case you can try the home remedies which are safe for you and lethal for the ants who have been raiding your food stuffs all this while.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Mix equal quantities of apple cider vinegar with water and fill the solution in a spray bottle. Spray this solution on the places where the ants have built their hills.
Spices For Your Rescue
Spices like the black pepper, turmeric, cinnamon, salt etc. can be sprinkled on the places from where the ants enter your house like the corner of windows, doors and the kitchen cabinets.
Cucumber
Cucumbers are the best remedy to repel ants. Place a few slices of cucumber in the places which are populated by the ants.
Mint
Dry the mint leaves and crush them. Sprinkle this mint powder near the window sills or the cracks from where the ants enter.
Baking Soda With Sugar
Mix powdered sugar with baking soda in equal amounts and sprinkle this mixture in the places where the ants usually hover.
Talcum Powder
It is the best ant repellent. Spray the talcum powder in the holes which the ants have populated.
Clove
Sugar box is the favourite spot that the ants raid. So, place a few pieces of cloves in your sugar box. Ants will not enter your sugar box.
Garlic
Crush the garlic cloves and place them in the way of the ants. You will soon see the ants disappear.
Lemon Juice
You can either pour a few drops of the lemon juice on the anthills or soak a cloth in lemon juice and mop the area where you do not want the ants to enter.
Borax
Sprinkle the borax powder on the anthills or mix it with sugar solution and spray it in the areas where the ants have created a nuisance.
