Remedies To Deal With Stained Floors
Floor of your house is highly susceptible to get stained on a daily basis. It gets stained more often and requires constant cleaning and maintenance to make it look bright and new. Different floors require different care depending on the type of flooring and kind of stains. It could be a coffee stain on the carpet or ink stain on a tile floor.
The most important thing is to clean up spills promptly and immediately. The sooner you start the process of cleaning the stain, the better your chances of removing it completely. The longer it settles, the more time it will have to soak into the grout. Depending on the stain, you may require a simple wet mop over it or might have to use alcohol based cleansers to get rid of them.
Let us look at few home remedies and techniques to cleanse your floor of stains.
1.
Juice
Juice
stains
tend
to
create
a
mess
with
sticky
situation
if
left
unattended
for
a
long
time.
Hence
sugary
or
other
edible
liquids
need
to
be
moped
with
a
wet
cloth
as
soon
as
possible
to
make
it
an
easy
process
to
clean.
Stains
such
as
coffee
or
tea
might
need
stronger
detergents
along
with
water
for
removal.
2.
Vinegar
If
traces
of
your
stain
tends
to
have
left
a
dull
mark
on
your
floor
even
after
cleaning
it
for
several
times,
use
a
solution
of
warm
water
and
vinegar
to
mop
it
over
the
stained
area.
After
this
process
if
the
stain
tends
to
stay
on,
mop
over
it
with
normal
detergent
and
fresh
water.
3.
Tile
Flooring
Sometimes
even
a
tile
floor
tend
to
get
sticky
stain
that
refuses
to
go
away
with
repeated
mopping.
Prepare
a
paste
using
a
50:50
mixture
of
scouring
powder
and
warm
water
in
a
cup.
Rub
the
paste
on
the
stain
using
a
clean
cloth,
and
then
allow
it
to
sit
for
five
to
10
minutes
before
scrubbing
it
off
and
cleaning
it
with
regular
mop.
4.
Mildew
Floors
in
places
like
bathroom
and
wet
areas
of
kitchen
tend
to
get
mildew
sometimes.
Its
important
to
ventilate
the
floor
with
airflow
to
avoid
mildew.
In
case
there
is
accumulation
of
mildew,
you
need
to
scrub
the
floor
with
a
brush
using
ammonia
solution
consisting
of
50:50
of
ammonia
and
water.
5.
Kerosene
Kerosene
is
a
powerful
cleansing
agent
that
can
be
used
to
clean
tough
and
stubborn
stains
on
the
floor
like
rust
spots
or
paint
drops
etc.
Dampen
a
cloth
with
kerosene
and
start
rubbing
the
stained
on
the
floor.
Repeat
the
process
till
the
stain
vanishes.
Wash
the
spot
with
warm
water
to
remove
residual
kerosene
and
stain.
6.
Bleach
If
the
stain
is
very
tough
and
hard
to
clean,
it
is
time
to
try
bleach.
Put
on
a
pair
of
gloves
and
make
a
solution
of
3/4th
bleach
to
1/4th
water.
Rub
the
solution
onto
the
stained
part
and
rinse
it
with
warm
water.
Use
a
brush
or
a
sponge
to
clean
corners
and
narrow
areas.
