Easy Barbecue Grill Cleaning Tips

It is the monsoon season and time for a barbecue party. But if your barbecue grill is greasy and sooty the taste of the meat you grill will lose its flavour. Cleaning a barbecue grill is easy and can be done in simple ways. However, it is not necessary to scrub the interior of your grill, whether you have a charcoal or a gas grill. It is believed that the residue from the cooking smoke which accumulates inside the grill seasons the meat, imparting a better flavour to the food. However, you cannot leave the grill unclean for months!

If you have flaky residue falling off the inside of the grill when you cook your meat , you can remove it by using some of these easy cleaning tips.

  1. Use a soapy sponge to remove the first coat of flake. Then with a non soapy sponge, wipe off the extra water which is left behind.
  2. While the coal is still red-hot, lay a sheet of aluminum foil over the grill to burn off the remaining foodstuff. Then crumble up the foil and use it to scrub the burnt food.
  3. Make a soft paste of 1/4 cup baking soda and 1/4 cup water. Apply this soft paste on the grill with the help of a wire brush and let it dry for 15 minutes. Wipe it down with a dry cloth and you will see the dirt removed, leaving your barbecue grill clean and shiny.
  4. After you have finished cooking, the best time to clean a barbecue grill is when its hot. This is easier since the food which is left behind is still soft and can be easily removed.
  5. You can also use wired scrubbers to break off that tough brittle dirt which is collected underneath the barbecue grill. Do not put a lot of pressure while scrubbing the grill as it can bend.

These are some of the most easy tips to clean your barbecue grill, so make sure you make the most use of it.
