2. E-Waste: Old batteries, cells, electric appliances, wires, chips and plugs to name a few can be put into a separate bin as they are toxic and harmful chemicals. Try not to mix them with other garbage items as the toxins cannot be recycled that easily.
3. Clothes: Old and torn cotton fabric can be cut into swabbers and used for cleaning purposes. Other good condition clothes can be donated to the needy. Chuck the dirty and stinky clothes as they may become good dwelling places for bugs.
4. Vegetable waste: Vegetable peels, seeds, rotten vegetables, fruits and food stuffs, vegetable stock can be dumped in a pit (if you have a garden) and be used as an organic manure for plants. Those living in apartments can use an empty pot to store the vegetable waste, mix it with soil and use as manure for potted plants.
5. Old oil, alcoholic drinks and expired medicines: Alcoholic drinks can be used to clean wood and glass items. Oils can be used to grease the metallic door and locks. Expired medicines (those rich in Calcium can be used to clean silver items) while others can be added to the organic manure.
Items like toys, gift items may remind memories and be close to heart but it is necessary to get practical and think of its use. Sometimes the furry toys may house germs and dust which may affect your kid's health. Logical and practical approach is what it takes to be a good housekeeper. So note down these housekeeping tips and de-crap all the unwanted items of your house for a disciplined life.
Happy De-Crap!
