By Super Admin

Table setting is an art. A meal however simple or elaborate, the laying of a table can make a whole lot of difference. Each meal can have a classy look with a little touch of thought. Here we look at table settings for all meals and light tit-bits. Have guests over anytime have a wonderful experience.

BREAKFAST

Whether it is your favourite hot chocolate or a fruity drink of kinds, Strawberry, Mango, Pineapple...Maybe for some, an English breakfast or bacon and eggs. The more traditional types will opt for some parathas and puris. Instead of a boring table why not trigger some creativity. Make a healthy decoration for a breakfast table with lots of fruits that may be eaten after the main course. You could co-ordinate the colors of the fruits with the colour of your crockery and table linen. Make it a happy and colourful combo. Flowers in pitchers or vases add an elegant look. Colours of orange, pink and lilac make an colourful aura.

BRUNCH

Brunch today is a common fad among most of us. Use pedestal plates to decorate for your champagne brunch. Stack fruits, muffins, bacon, sausage, home fries, pancakes, ham and biscuits. A lace table linen will add the much needed grace. Use colourful fruits.

LUNCH

Be it a continental lunch full of pastas and pizzas or a traditional one with rice, rotis and pappads, use your imagination. Use a striped tablecloth with neat subtle coloured napkins and clear tall glasses. Have fish on the menu for they add an appeal to every meal with their shapes and garnishing. Have flowers in vases and pitchers.

DINNER

If you a planning on a romantic dinner for just the two of you, ideal would be a round table with a lace or light coloured table cloth with an ice bucket with your favourite wine. Light candles all over the room or have just a candle on your table with dim lighting in the room. This will set the mood for an enchanting evening. If it is a dinner for family and friends it can be planned on the same lines of lunch in addition to some fragrant and floating candles.

Table Linen

Have a big tablecloth that falls on the sides of the dining table. Accompany it with Placemats and napkins. Take care to see that the colour of your table linen does not overpower the colour of the crockery on the table. Match them to make attractive combinations. Let one not overtake the other, but let me be a peaceful blend between the two.

CenterPiece

A centerpiece may range anything from fresh flowers to a bowl of fruits or potpourri. Care should be taken that whatever is placed at the center should not obstruct view or hinder conversation at the dinner table. A centerpiece is placed to create a balanced effect on the table. If you decide to have flowers as the centerpiece, have falling flowers like Zerbaras, tulips, lilies and daisies. These easily drop to the sides of the vase and thus will not obstruct. Fruits and nuts, seashells, candle stands and vases make good centrepeices.

Have a pleasant time!
