How To Grow Lemon In Your Garden
Lemon is rich in vitamin C. It has many health benefits. A refreshing lemon juice in summer gives much relief. Not only in summer, you can have lemon in any season for it's health benefits. How wonderful it would be, if you can grow your own lemon trees in gardening. Today we will share with you how you can grow lemon at home.
They are free from pesticides and are organic. Lemon tree will bloom with white flowers and leaves will shine in sunlight. They also add to aesthetic appeal of your garden.
It is best to grow them outdoors in hot climate as they need sunlight. However you can also grow them indoors, but keep them in a warm atmosphere

Type Of Pot
What kind of pot should be for lemon tree? Pot should be 6 to 7 inches deep. It should be 3 to 5 inches in diameter for the seeds to sprout. However the seedling needs to be replanted in a larger container. Matured lemon trees require a wider container with a diameter of 15 to 18 inches. The seedling will start to grow in the pot with in few years.

Sowing The Seed
Purchase
an
organic
lemon.
Cut
it
to
take
out
the
seeds.
Select
a
bigger
and
full
seed.
Put
this
seed
in
your
mouth
first
and
suck
until
all
the
flesh
of
seed
is
removed
and
lemon
flavour
is
gone.
The
seed
should
not
dry
out
as
it
needs
moisture
to
germinate.
Put
it
inside
your
mouth
until
you
sow
it.
Mix
water
and
soil
in
a
bucket.
Put
this
moist
soil
in
the
pot.
Sow
it
about
half
inch
below
the
soil
level
in
the
pot.
Now
cover
it
fully
with
the
soil.
Water
it
gently.
Cover
this
pot
with
plastic
cover
to
keep
your
seeds
moist
and
warm.
Make
some
holes
in
the
plastic
cover
for
breathing.

Sunlight For Lemon Tree
How to grow lemon at home? For growing lemon seeds, put your lemon tress in light as they require lot of light, especially at the time of sprouting. They require 10-14 hours of of sunlight.

Warm Location
Lemon seeds will germinate only in warm conditions and in moisture. Keep the container in a warm place. Never let the soil in pot to dry out. Also check for excessive heat and moisture as then your lemon seeds will be rotten.

Sprouting
After two weeks a sprout will emerge from the soil inside pot. After it appears, you can remove the plastic cover from the pot. Place the pot now in warm location with a little sunlight.

Water Requirements For Lemon Trees
Make sure the soil in pot is moist all the time. Do not over water it. Make little holes at the bottom of pot before sowing. This helps in removal of excess water. It should receive not less than eight hours of sunlight each day.

Lemon Tree Fertiliser Requirements
Put organic fertiliser such as compost (once leaves start appearing) so that your lemon tree will be nourished. There will be proper growth and it will be healthy by adding fertilisers. Add compost at least twice a year or more than that. However, you should not add it frequently. Check for pests and watch your lovely lemon tree growing. It may take 3-5 years for your tree to be capable of producing lemons.
