Beautiful gardens add beauty to the home. Winter is a climate which causes a lot of trouble to our health as well as homes. The climatic conditions in winter also affect plants to a certain extent. Decorating your garden with beautiful plants and colorful flower bearing plants is not the only thing; your plants need adequate care. Seasons affect plants a lot and plants should be taken care off according to the seasons. One of the simple tips to save your special plants from the hardy snow is to move them indoors. Your outdoor winter plants may be good enough to bear the rough weather, however, we can't predict when nature plays hide and seek. These outdoor plants can be brought in and grown as houseplants. They will be definitely able to bear the cold winter weather.

Rose care
Rose is one of the winter plants which may require special care to withstand the weather. It is always seen that rose plants come through winter with a small damage. They are chances that they are hit hard by the frost and may not be able to withstand the extreme weather conditions. It is necessary to protect the graft from injury as that is the part that could be hit by winter weather and this is why winter garden care becomes extremely important.

Insulate your containers
If you have your winter plants potted inside a container, then take care of the space between containers. It is also necessary that you insulate your container properly to save winter plants. Winter garden care is not something easy, it certainly needs some extra efforts.

Some extra tips for winter garden care

  • Decide earlier on the winter plants that need some special care. Give them the care
  • Take caution and stop feeding your plants a few days in advance.
  • Replace small floating plants. Move them indoors and make them as ornamental plants at no cost. Your small floating winter plants are a merry!
  • If the winter plants are not hardy, then get them removed. If you are so particular to maintain them, then move them indoors and place them in a tub filled with water.
  • The hardy plants in your garden can be maintained as such. One winter garden care they require is removing dead foliage. Trim them a few inches above the ground level. You can also bring them indoors. No big harm.
  • When it comes to winter garden care for lilies, you need to take some precaution. Bring your tropical water lilies indoors while leaving the hardy ones out in your garden.
  • Take care of the bulbs that grow in your garden. If you really need some bulbs for the next season, it is essential that you dug them and store. Winter garden care may be sometimes a bit tedious, however, it makes your garden pretty and beautiful.
