If your gardens have too many trees, then you need cut down to make way for flower plants. There are ways for growing plants below shade and that is "Shade Gardening". But one needs to know that not all plants are shade loving so today we would like to give a few tips on the plants that wouldn't like bright sunlight. Take a look
Today, one of the common problems that people face is finding the right plant for the right area in the garden, particularly shade garden. Take a look at these different shade plants (the categories) and have a beautiful landscapes of your own.
All About Shade Plants And Shade Garden Ideas -
1. Foxglove Plants - Foxgloves are biennials, tall, slender and tubular. Although they are summer flowers they do not like to be under sun. The plants thrive well in partial shade and well drained soil. The popular flowers grow on spikes and are said to attract feathery friends like the hummingbirds.
2. Daylilies - These perennial plants are not only shade plants but are spring summer plants. The flowers are available in multiple colors and planting just a sapling is more than enough as they spread all over the area through seeds. Moist soil, organic manure and frequent watering is all that the plant needs for a healthy growth.
3. Snowdrops - These droplet like white flowers like partial shade, fertile and well drained soil. The tri-petal flower plant is a bulb plant and the best time to grow these plants is during fall so that they bloom in spring. The dry leaves can become good manure to the new plants.
4. Hosta Plants - Hosta plants are herbaceous perennials with colorful leaves. The leaves do not require much care and can be watered only when the soil is dry. They are shade plants because the foliage fade if exposed to sunlight directly. They can be grown in planting zones 3-9. At maturity fragrant hosta plants will stand 1'-1 1/2' tall with a spread of 1 1/2'-2'. Grow fragrant plants in a partially sunny area.
5. Astilbe - These are long-blooming flowers that are often found in red, pink and white combinations. They are shade plants and require plant zones 4-8. The flowers bloom well in spring summer. Tthe feathery plume like flowers appear between the fresh green ferns. Perfer partial shade and plenty of water.
6. Caladium - The popular foliage is known for its attractive multi colored leaves. The tropical plant grows faster in cooler and humid climates. Caladium are quite poisonous so one needs to watch out if kids are at home. The plants survive partial to full shade and a well fertilized soil.
7. Hydrangea - They are the deciduous vines varieties and climbers. The plants can grow as tall as 50 feet tall and occupy good space. The Mauve flowers bloom in bunches and look very attractive. The leaves of the climbers turn yellowish in autumn. The plants like hot climate and plenty of humus.
