Grow Mushroom With These Simple Tips

Mushroom Growing Tips -
1. Mushrooms are nothing but spores bearing fungus so they grow only by the dispersion of spores.
2. To grow mushrooms, the area should be relatively moist all the time like wood, saw dust, logs etc so that the mushrooms can absorb necessary moisture and nutrients to grow into edible vegetables.
3. For mushrooms, the ideal temperature would be 75 degrees fahrenheit and the best season would be spring as the wood or log which they grow on would be freshly cut and will be rich in sugars.
4. Button Mushrooms and other Agaricus species can be cultured easily than other mushroom types as they can easily grow on compost.
5. For other types, buy Mushroom plugs from stores. Drill the log upto 6 inches and plug the mushrooms inside the drilled holes so that they have enough moisture to absorb from the log.
6. Cover the plugs with cheese wax so that the spawns are safe and place logs in a shaded place where there is no sunlight and keep watering the logs every time you see them dry.
7. Making Compost takes very long, but Mushroom grow when the compost is white which means it is rich in actinomycetes bacteria that provide nutrients that mushrooms want. Adding gypsum or calcium sulfate to compost will keep the temperature under control for the Mushrooms to grow well.
