Rangoli Designs: Pongal Decorations
Rangoli is a fine art that is commonly practiced in many Indian states. The colourful art is considered spiritual. That is why every occasion like Diwali or Pongal is incomplete without rangoli decorations.
A rangoli is ideally drawn on the entrance of the house and there are many types of rangolis that are drawn in front of houses. Kolam, Aripana, Alpana, Aipan etc are few types of rangoli.
Drawing a rangoli requires skill and creativity. You can either make rangoli with rice flour or add few colours to it and make it look bright.
As Pongal is around the corner, you have to draw Kolam outside the house to welcome guests and celebrate the Tamil harvest festival. Kolam is considered lucky as it brings peace and prosperity in the house. Every colour in the rangoli has a meaning attached to it. For example, red is the colour of celebration, white is of purity, green for nature and blue for peace. So, you can draw a beautiful rangoli outside your house to welcome your guests. Here are few colourful rangoli designs that you can pick up for Pongal decorations this year.
You can either be simple by picking up an easy design and few colours or try some innovative ideas to make your rangoli look fantastic.
