Energy and Fengshui

When we speak of energy and its influence we need to understand that the earth itself is swathed with magnetic bands of energy which is known as Van Allen Belts. These result in many kinds of currents in the atmosphere and ocean although some of them are governed by poles, gravity and moon phases. A common term when people converse is that they claim that "they have free minds and they can do what they want". In reality it is not true as magnetic and cosmic fields have a great influence on our behavior patterns.

Human body is akin to a compass and we do have our own in-built biological compass needle. The hemoglobin in the blood cell of every human body contains at the center a trace of iron. We have all observed that when iron filings are put on a paper and a magnet placed next to it, the iron filings move around and follow the magnetic pole. Similarly our body gets influenced due to the energy emanating from the magnetic belts and establishes how balanced we are in the energy field surrounding us.

The band of Magnetic energy would be different at different locations ,so, whenever you move from one location to another, travel long distances or even move into a new premise, you will feel the change. What one needs to understand is the fact that energy keeps changing constantly and continuously and varies not due to just environment of the building and the interiors, but other extraneous influences too.

Feng Shui plays a very important and relentless role in ensuring that your home or premises is in accordance with the basic fundamentals of the energy around and is supportive to the occupants. Feng Shui is quite often misunderstood to be a "Quick -fix" to our day to day problems. A place when Fengshuied need not necessarily look very Chinese with many Good Luck symbols and objects. Feng Shui can be incorporated and made to work quite efficiently even when it is less conspicuous and there are many methods scripted by the traditional masters to adapt it without having to follow Taoism rituals and practices.

The feel one gets when you first step into your home to a large extent indicates the type of energy, atmosphere and the taste of the people who live there. The area inside the main door is known as "Ming tang" in Chinese or in other words a bright spot. The area just inside the front door should never be cramped and dark. It has to be bright and airy, giving a feel of warmth to receive the "Chi" and energise it. Most often we find that right at the entrance the area is scattered and filled with footwear, this is not good as it is a state of disorder and moreover displaying footwear at the entrance is not good fengshui. Put them away into a closed shelf and ensure that they are not placed deep inside the home.

Avoid furniture's and objects which come in your way when you step into the home, they create blockages for the Chi to move in and its is believed in the Chinese community that this does not allow your luck to come in and gets choked.

Floral decorations or just placing a vase of fresh flowers is considered good and if you have set up a wall cabinet or counter ensure that the artifacts displayed are pleasant. Avoid objects and artifacts, which look threatening and sharp. Objects like armored soldiers with weapons and artifacts like masks etc are forbidden throughout the home moreso near the entrance. Most of all avoid clutter at the entrance.
