8 Places You Forget To Clean In Your Home
Even if you take huge pride in keeping your home spotless, there are certain areas or spots in your home you may miss out to clean unknowingly! These uncommon spots in your home remain neglected or get a dusting when cleaning for special occasions. But cleaning and maintaining your home should also include these uncommon or neglected spots or objects. Wonder what are those? Read on to get an idea about what it means to clean your home thoroughly!
Window Tracks
Window tracks are one of the most tedious places or areas to clean and remain dust-ridden most of the time. You can clean the window tracks and window locks with a soft bristle brush, or pine needles. Or invest in window track cleaning gloves or brush to clean this unreachable common area in your home!

Door Frames, Thresholds and Walls
The walls in your home can be kept dust and cobwebs-free with gentle dusting or a vacuum cleaner. Similarly, thresholds and doorframes can be kept clean with a damp cloth and wiped off clean with a dry cloth to remove water residues.
Under the Furniture
You may be vacuuming your couch, bed, or accent chairs once a week but cleaning the underside of the same may be a rare occurrence. If you skip cleaning under the furniture pieces for a long time, the tiny dust particles take the shape of dust bunnies and it is a cumbersome task to remove the accumulated dust. Simply shift the furniture with someone's help and clean under it with regular brooming and wipe the stains or dust with deep vacuum cleaning.
Hoods and Vents
The kitchen hood, microwave filters, vents, etc get stained pretty quickly. You can remove the grease, oil stains, and food particles from the same with the use of soapy water and a clean dry cloth. If you are using a surface or appliance cleaning product then ensure they are of good quality.
Soft Furnishings
Soft furnishings like accent cushions, throw, area rug, beddings, curtains or drapes make a necessary addition to homes. Shopping for soft furnishings and adding them to rooms is an exciting thing to do but care of the same happens seldom. You should change the pillow covers, and bedsheet on a weekly basis. Area rugs, curtains or drapes should be soft vacuumed weekly. The dust on these soft furnishings may not be visible but can affect your health, as these furnishings come in your contact directly. That's why ensure to keep the soft furnishings clean and impressive!
Ceiling Fans and Lights
Don't wait for special occasions or festivities to keep your ceiling fans and light fixtures dust-free. Ensure to keep them clean at least once a month. Use a vacuum cleaner or a long-handle broom to clean the ceiling fans. Light fixtures are mostly delicate, so make sure to clean them with a soft brush or cloth to avoid scratches or accidental breakage.
Trash Cans
We add garbage in the trash can to keep our homes trash free. But these humble and extremely essential home care objects often remain dirty with all trash residues or stains. Dirty trash can is the breeding spot for germs and bacteria. Ensure to keep the trash can clean by rising it under tap water and spraying a disinfectant on the same regularly.
Toothbrush Holder
When cleaning the bathroom, make a point of cleaning the toothbrush holder too. A dirty or overlooked holder can be a hot spot for germs. Clean the toothbrush holder under running water or wipe it with a damp cloth often!
