Today in this article we shall discuss certain things that you should keep in mind while you are on antibiotics.

1. Never Take Antibiotics All By Yourself:
Each antibiotic works well only for certain types of illnesses and your physician is the right person to compare your needs with the available medications. Hence, never take antibiotics all by yourself.

2. Antibiotics Treats Bacterial Infections Not Viral Infections:
Antibiotics are unable to fight with a few diseases due to viruses like colds, influenza, most coughs, bronchitis, as well as sore throat and strap. They can be used to treat only bacterial infections and not viral infections.

3. Adverse Effects Of Antibiotics:
A few of the antibiotics have adverse effects like soft faeces, watery diarrhoea, hives, vomiting, abdomen cramps, white spots on the tongue, swelling of lips and face, difficulty in breathing and vaginal itching.

4. Mixture Of Antibiotics:
If you combine the antibiotics, it may be sometimes helpful to treat severe diseases. Combinations can also be essential for those diseases wherein the bacterium quickly develops resistance to one antibiotic. Diseases due to one or more bacterium, wherein each bacterium is susceptible to another antibiotic may also be treated with a mixture of antibiotics.

5. Dose Of Antibiotics:
The general dose of antibiotics is two to three times a day. Do not self medicate. Follow your doctor's prescription closely. Also finish the full course of antibiotics. Do not stop in the middle. This will not help in curing your disease fully.

6. Time To Take Antibiotics:
Antibiotics should most of the time be taken after meals. Also have light food during this time and do not have spicy food. Also do not consume alcoholic beverages during this time.

7. Drink Lots Of Water:
When you are on antibiotics make sure to drink lots of water to flush the toxins out of the body. Take vitamin supplements to strengthen your body and yogurt and other probiotics to fill your gut with healthy bacteria.
