Health Problems Faced By Today's Women

Many factors are responsible to the increasing rates of illnesses all over the world, let us take a look at some health issues tormenting women of these times.

Cancer
The number of women suffering from various types of cancer has increased today. To reduce the risk, it is better to stay away from smoking, drinking and an unhealthy diet. Ensure that your food contains lots of antioxidants. Green tea, pears, apples, citrus fruits, berries and leafy vegetables contain antioxidants.

Diabetes
Diabetes can damage nerves, kidneys and even eyes if it is not controlled. Unfortunately, today the number of women falling prey to diabetes is increasing.
For some, diabetes comes due to family history. But others can take certain preventive measures to decrease the risk. Maintaining healthy weight is one good preventive measure. Regular exercise can also help. Staying away from processed foods and sugars can also help.

Obesity
Obesity is one of the biggest health issues troubling today's women. And the increased levels of processed good consumption is to be blamed first and decreased activity levels are to be blamed next for the soaring obesity rate.

To reduce the risk of cardiovascular issues, it is better to maintain healthy blood-lipid levels, decrease blood pressure and quit smoking. Also, saturated fat is dangerous. Avoid foods that increase bad cholesterol.

Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is troubling almost 60% of today's women says a report. It is preventable if precautionary measures are taken early in life. Strengthening the bones, eating enough of calcium and lifting weights can prevent or postpone osteoporosis.

Depression
A study claims that women are falling prey to depression more than men. In some cases, hormonal changes are the reason and in other cases problems in personal life are to be blamed.
