These Common Foods Can Ruin Your Teeth!
If you want a healthy set of pearly whites, keep away from these foods!
They say that a beautiful smile is the best accessory a person can wear. Well, is a smile truly beautiful if you have stained teeth?
The answer would be a big "NO", right? Even if you have a neat set of teeth, they cannot be called 'pearly whites' if they have uneven stains on them.
Now, most of us take a lot of effort to look presentable when it comes to our clothes, face and hair, right?
We make sure that we wear the clothes that fit us right, we keep some time aside for the much needed face and hair care and so on.

We even go through the daily rituals of practicing personal hygiene, such as brushing out teeth twice a day and a few more.
However, many of us may not realise that just brushing our teeth twice a day may not be enough to keep our teeth healthy.
Teeth care is as important as caring for the rest of our body, if not more, as the health of our teeth reflects our overall health to a significant extent.
In fact, many research studies have suggested that having unhealthy teeth with cavities and gum problems is linked to major diseases like heart ailments!
So, it is very important to do everything we can to keep our teeth healthy.
Now, there are certain factors that determine the health of your teeth, such as your dental hygiene and the kind of diet that you follow.
When certain food particles accumulate in between our teeth, they can become a breeding ground for bacteria, which eventually cause stains and cavities.
There are a few common foods that we could be consuming on a regular basis, which could stain our teeth or cause cavities; here are a few of them.

1. Red Wine
Drinking red wine on a regular basis can not only cause cavities in your teeth, as it contains sugar, but can also leave brownish stains on your teeth, due to its hue.

2. Coffee
Although your morning coffee can make you energetic, drinking too much of it in a day can also leave your teeth looking brownish and unhealthy.

3. Lemon
Yes, even though we know that lemon is very good for health, as it is loaded with vitamin C, consuming lime juice, especially with sugar on a regular basis can affect your teeth, as lemon is acidic in nature.

4. Pistachio
Many a times, people use their teeth to crack the shells of pistachios. Doing this often can chip the delicate enamel of our teeth, causing teeth sensitivity.

5. Rich Gravies
If you are a fan of chicken curry or paneer gravy, think twice before consuming them often, because the food colouring added to the powders and the oil can stain your teeth!

6. Beetroot
Although beetroot is an extremely healthy vegetable, filled with vitamins, minerals and fibre, consuming them raw, on a daily basis could also stain your pearly whites, as they come with a rich red hue!
