What’s Chronic Fatigue?
May 12th is the world chronic fatigue syndrome awareness day. This date was particularly chosen as it was the day Florence Nightingale was born. She is none other than the one who played an important role in the Red Cross movement.

Though
she
suffered
chronic
fatigue
syndrome,
she
worked
hard
and
accomplished
a
lot
in
the
field
of
nursing.
The
problem
with
chronic
fatigue
syndrome
is
that
it
doesn't
show
any
evident
symptoms
but
could
cause
terrible
inconvenience.

The person suffering it could experience severe fatigue with no medical reason behind it. Even when the person tries to take rest, the fatigue never subsides and may get worse gradually.

Though there could be many reasons like stress and infections behind it, the actual reason is yet to be discovered. That is why it is believed that this condition could be caused by several factors, not just one.

Also, there is no particular test to diagnose this condition. Many different types of tests are to be conducted to diagnose it. But how do you know that you are experiencing this condition? Well, here are some of its symptoms.

Symptoms:
- Extreme tiredness
- Inability to concentrate
- Sore throat
- Swollen lymph nodes
- Muscle pains
- Redness and pains in the joints
- Severe headache
- Disturbed sleep
- Feeling exhausted all the time

Causes:
Viral infections, immunity issues and even hormonal imbalances can trigger fatigue syndrome. In fact, fatigue could also be due to many other factors, combination of factors or illnesses. Only your doctor can diagnose the issue.
