#Budget 2016: What's In Store For Health?
They say health is wealth. That is why we invest our wealth on health. As today is the Budget Day for the financial year of 2016 and 2017, let us take a quick look at the budget updates and how it is going to affect the area of health primarily.
The government is already working hard to increase the awareness among people on areas like cleanliness and health through 'Swachh Bharat' campaigns.

As India is very big in terms of population, the health care industry occupies a special place in the budget. Estimates suggest that India currently spends only 1% of GDP on Public health which is why the medical facilities are still not on par with international standards.
Also, there is more room for development in the National Health Policy. When the budget gets announced, Indians eagerly wait to see the latest developments in the National Health Policy. This policy is drafted by the Health Ministry.

New Health Scheme
A new health protection scheme is announced. This scheme is for senior citizens who are below the poverty line. The cover is up to INR 1,00,000.
