Hypothyroidism is a condition in which you have an under active thyroid gland. In this case, the thyroid gland stops secreting enough hormones for the body to function properly. The thyroid is an extremely important gland of our body and when it does not generate enough hormones the body is significantly influenced.
The symptoms can differ from one individual to another and there are several different things that could be the primary reason for this disorder. Fairly often among the main signs of an under active thyroid is an entire lack of energy. If you are getting a good quantity of sleep and actually fighting with exhaustion and tired muscles, this might be an indication.

Another obvious sign is an increased lump where your thyroid is situated. Other signs are dry skin and hair or brittle nails and hair, loss of memory, lack of awareness and focus, fat gain, low sexual libido and even infertility. Severe exhaustion and fatigue are the most common symptoms of thyroid conditions. In some cases even after the patients are treated for the thyroid conditions, they still feel exhausted and find it difficult to carry on with their day to day duties without being fatigued.

Insomnia and difficulty in sleeping are common conditions associated with hypothyroidism. Sometimes you will be so exhausted that you will not be able to lift your head from the pillow in the morning. You might feel like sleeping more and yet no matter how much you sleep, it will never seem to be enough.

Researchers have proved that there is a connection between sleep apnea and hypothyroidism. People with hypothyroidism are more prone to suffer from sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a condition in which you stop breathing for brief periods of time while sleeping. This condition can lead to unrelieved exhaustion and fatigue.
