10 Things NOT To Gulp On An Empty Stomach
Healthy foods are many and eating them at the right time during the day is important. According to a new study, it is said that there are some foods one must avoid on an empty stomach.
The reason being that these foods are high in acids and other substances which can destroy the lining of the intestine thus adding to stomach infections and other health issues. (SHOULD YOU DRINK WATER ON AN EMPTY STOMACH?)
Healthy foods like yoghurt, raw tomatoes, banana are some of the foods to avoid consuming when your tummy is empty. If you are on a fruit diet and want to stick to fruits three times in the day, it is best to start with a glass of warm water first and then enjoy the bowl of fruits.
Even tea and coffee should be restricted on an empty stomach.
Here are some of the other foods and things not to gulp down on an empty tummy, take a look:

Soda
Soda is high in carbonated acids and when mixed with the stomach acids it will cause health problems like nausea and discomfort too.

Tomatoes
When tomatoes are consumed on an empty stomach, these acids react with the gastrointestinal acids in the stomach to create insoluble gels which can then cause stomach calculus, also known as ‘stomach stones'.

Medicines
There is a reason why doctors state not to pop in pills on an empty stomach. When medication is taken on an empty tummy, it irritates the lining of the stomach and messes with the stomach acids which in turn creates an imbalance in the body.

Alcohol
There are some people who enjoy drinking alcohol on an empty stomach as it intoxicates one quickly. But, did you know this is unhealthy as the ingredients present in the alcohol can burn the lining of the intestine when food is not consumed.

Spicy Food
We all love spicy food, but when this food is consumed on empty stomach it doesn't do too well for the natural acids present in your tummy. It reacts with the lining causing an acidic reaction and cramps.

Coffee
One of the dangerous foods you must not consume on an empty stomach is coffee. The presence of caffeine in coffee is not good for the stomach. It is best to drink a glass of water first before your coffee.

Tea
Just like coffee, tea too isn't a good beverage to consume on an empty stomach. Tea has a higher level of acids which affects the stomach lining.

Yogurt
This fresh probitic ingredients is healthy is a lot of ways, but not when consumed on an empty stomach. The good bacteria present in curd reacts with the lining juices thus causing a tummy upset.

Banana
Eating banana with an empty stomach will suddenly increase the magnesium in the body and damage the balance between magnesium and calcium in the blood. Therefore, it is not advisable to consume this food on an empty stomach.

Sweet Potatoes
Did you know sweet potatoes contains,tannin and pectin, which will stimulate the stomach wall to secrete more gastric acid, causing heartburn.
