10 Simple Ways To Quench Your Thirst
When looking for thirst quenchers, we come across a variety of products. Water is definitely there but now, the market is flooded with drinks of all kinds. It is sad to say but most of the off-the-shelf drinks fall in the unhealthy zone.
But at the same time, they are always in demand. What we should predominantly concentrate on is healthy drinks that serve as positive ways to quench your thirst.
In normal times, the body loses water through breathing, perspiring and through urine. During summer, the rate at which the body loses water increases and then it becomes essential to supply the body with extra water.
This is important to enable the body to maintain body temperature and supply oxygen and nutrients to the cells. The water and the beverages we drink are two important sources of water fluid supply. Take a look at the various options we have to quench our thirst.

Water
This is one of the most important and easiest ways to quench thirst. Water also happens to be an essential ingredient in all the regular soft drinks, both store-bought and homemade. Adopt proper drinking water tips and experience a whole lot of difference in your body, both externally and internally.

Lemonade
Water with sugar, lemon juice and a pinch of salt; this happens to be a very satisfying cool drink that can be prepared in a jiffy. It not only quenches your thirst, but also helps the body to regain lost salts from perspiration. Similar to lemonade is orangeade, another thirst quenching drink.

Ice tea
Chilled ice tea poured over ice cubes is cool and refreshing. Add flavours such as lemon, peach or mint to it to enjoy the pleasures of chilled beverages on a hot summer afternoon.

Ginger ale
The tangy taste of ginger may not be liked by all but those who like it enjoy it to the fullest. Ginger has been extensively used in the Indian, Arabic and Chinese communities. Its multiple benefits help the body to fight many diseases. Having it as a way to quench your thirst gives you just another way to consume this wonder root.

Coconut water
When it is hot and you are feeling hungry, grab a green coconut. The water is energising. It not only quenches your thirst but benefits your digestive system and skin texture as well.

Sugarcane Juice
Cool, energising and uplifting - this is exactly what sugarcane juice does. Add a bit of ginger to it while juicing and you get a tangy, tongue tingling taste. The natural sugars give you the energy you need on hot summer days.

Cucumber
This is the perfect summer treat and one of the simplest ways to quench your thirst. Peel the cucumber, slice it as you want to and sprinkle some salt on the insides. The fruit, no it's not a vegetable, starts dripping water. Every bite promises taste and refreshment.

Watermelon
Yet another summer fruit - the watermelon. This red juicy fruit primarily consists of water and sugar. Every crispy piece of this fruit is bursting with flavour and energy. You can eat it or juice it, the taste remains the same.

Buttermilk
Fermented milk is considered good for the digestive system. Its probiotic properties provide all the good bacteria to maintain a healthy gut. Buttermilk can be had sweet or salty depending upon your preference. Unlike other drinks, this one can be had with meals. In fact, it helps in the digestion process as well.

Salads
Crispy and crunchy pieces of freshly cut lettuce, cucumber, zucchini, capsicum, carrot, beetroot mixed with blanched broccoli and seasoned with dried herbs and vinegar make for a thirst quenching treat. Every spoonful will release a good amount of water into the body and also satisfy the taste buds.
