Exercises For Slipped Disc
Our spinal cord column is made of various discs that are held together and managed by our body muscles. Sometimes, the distance between the spinal cord discs tends to increase and this causes pain in the back.
Slipped disc is the term coined for this complication. Slipped disc is caused because of irregular exercise, strain on the back or accidental injuries. Slipped disc treatment can be done by using pain reliever medicines, physiotherapy and surgery.

In this article, we shall discuss a few exercises for slipped disc that relieve pain and are useful for slipped disc treatment. These are a combination of stretching exercising, including yoga and aerobics.
KNOW THE CAUSES OF PAIN IN LOWER ABDOMEN
Before doing any of these exercises, you must consult with your physiotherapist. If you feel excess pressure or pain when performing any of the following exercises you must stop instantly and go to a doctor if the pain persists.
Tuck in the tummy – In this first exercise for slipped discs, all you have to do is pull your stomach inside. You must let your stomach meet your spinal cord. Stretch your abdominal and your back muscles with this exercise. Do not take support from your legs. Repeat this exercise for 10-2- times whenever you start feeling any pain in your back. This exercise for slipped disc helps in pain relieving but is not efficient as a slipped disc treatment.
Yoga Postures – There are many yoga postures that could help in slipped disc treatment. Yoga postures help in stretching back muscles and soothing back pain caused by slipped disc. Certain simple and good yoga postures you must try are standing straight on one leg and stretching your hands high in the air, touching your feet without bending your knees, stretching your back lying on your stomach, etc. These are good exercises for slipped disc that you can do at home.
Squats – Squats are good exercises for a slipped disc. This exercises will help relieve pain to a large extent. In squats, you should keep your back straight and put forward one leg and bend from the knees, putting all the weight on the other leg. Bring your body as low as possible without bending your back. Do not put excess pressure on your back when doing this exercise. Also avoid doing the exercise if your back pain increases.
Easygoing exercises – High energy and strenuous exercises cannot be performed by patients suffering from slipped disc. But they can do easy exercises like walking, jogging, running, swimming and dancing. These exercises do not need a lot of strain. 30 minutes of exercising can help to reduce pain caused by slipped disc and helps in slipped disc treatment. Doctors prescribe some mandatory exercise if you are suffer from slipped disc problems.
Aerobics – Aerobics is also a good exercise for slipped disc. It involves cardio and stretching, which helps to reduce pain caused by slipped disc.
