Vegetables To Stay Hydrated In Summer
As the days start to heat up again, we need to care for our body to fight the scorching summer heat. During summers, we often suffer from dehydration due to sweating. Excessive sweating reduces water and salt content in the body thus making us feel dehydrated.
This is why, we are often asked to drink more water during summers. Water not only keeps you hydrated but, it also cleanses your body by flushing out harmful toxins and free radicals from the body. But, just drinking water is not the only way to stay hydrated. Even your diet plays a crucial role in maintaining your health. Eating or drinking something that dehydrates the body should be excluded from your diet. Coffee for instance dehydrates the body, so avoid it.
So, you can include few water-rich foods in your summer diet to stay hydrated. As the name suggests, these foods are very high in water content and low in calories. Watermelon, cucumber, celery for example are few water-rich foods. Here is a list of water-rich vegetables that you must include in your summer diet to stay hydrated.
Water-rich vegetables to stay hydrated:

Bell peppers
Bell peppers contain 90 percent water and must be included in your summer diet. They are also rich in Vitamin C, A, K and nutrients like lutein, zeaxanthin, potassium to name a few.

Cucumber
This highly cultivated summer vegetable from the gourd family is also rich in water. Have lots of cucumber to stay hydrated this summer.

Broccoli
This green vegetable has many health and nutritional benefits. Moreover, it is one of the water-rich vegetables to have in summers.

Carrots
Carrots are good for the overall health. They keep you hydrated, cleanses the skin and helps get a glowing face naturally. Have carrot juice regularly in summers to stay hydrated and cool.

Zucchini
This is another vegetable that is rich in water content. The green vegetable is also good for your eyesight so, make sure you have it in your diet regularly.

Green cabbage
The green leafy vegetable is extremely nutritious and healthy. They are low in calories and rich in water, so include it in your summer diet.

Celery
Apart from lowering blood pressure levels, celery is one of the water-rich vegetables that can help you stay hydrated and cool in summer.

Tomatoes
Tomatoes contain 93 percent of water and are rich in anti-oxidant, Lycopene that cleanses the body from toxins and also fights ageing. If you are following a diet, have raw tomatoes as it controls food cravings.

Radish
Having radish in your diet helps retain water in the body. Radish is easy to digest so it helps get rid of digestive problems.

Lettuce
Having salad that has fresh lettuce helps lose weight and stay hydrated. Fresh leaves are an excellent source of Vitamin A, K and beta carotenes. So, have nutritious lettuce in your summer diet.
