Side Effects Of Coffee In Men
Coffee is one of the most sought after stimulants around the world. Men drink coffee to stay focused at work and beat fatigue. Generally coffee intake is harmless and to a large extent there are several health benefits associated with drinking coffee in moderation. However, when men get addicted to drinking coffee it leads to many side effects such nervousness, anxiety, muscle twitching and irregular heartbeats.
Caffeine is the main active chemical of coffee that blocks adenosine, which is a chemical that makes you naturally drowsy, increasing concentration and reaction speed. By drinking coffee regularly, most men tend to get addicted to its stimulating and mood altering properties. In today's lifestyle, most men get addicted to coffee by missing normal sleep time and inadequate rest to their body and mind. The so called energy boosting morning coffee is misleading as the caffeine only eases withdrawal symptoms accumulated overnight.
Addiction to caffeine itself is a major side effect of drinking coffee that starts off seamlessly without being a noticeable change in lifestyle. Once addiction to coffee takes control and crosses 300mg per day limit, the long term side effects start to take control. Once the temporary stimulation stops, the brain cells start needing caffeine for stimulation and a sudden neural sluggishness kicks in. Men who are addicted to coffee for long periods of time start to develop severe side effects resulting in major sleeping disorders.

Here are some of the side effects of coffee in men.
1.Ulcers
Many
of
the
compounds
in
coffee
like
caffeine
and
the
various
acids
found
in
coffee
beans
can
irritate
your
stomach
and
the
lining
of
your
small
intestine.
By
not
drinking
water
before
or
after
consuming
coffee
or
by
consuming
excess
coffee,
it
aggravates
ulcers
and
acidity.
Other
side
effects
of
coffee
addiction
include
abdominal
spasms,
cramps,
constipation
and
diarrhoea.
2.Heartburn
Acid
reflux
and
heartburn
can
be
caused
by
coffee
due
to
the
way
it
relaxes
the
lower
esophageal
sphincter.
This
small
muscle
should
remain
tightly
closed
once
you've
eaten
to
prevent
the
contents
of
your
stomach
from
coming
back
into
the
esophagus
and
burning
its
delicate
lining
with
hydrochloric
acid.
3.Laxative
For
many
coffee
is
a
must
every
morning
as
they
are
addicted
to
it
as
a
laxative.
Drinking
coffee
can
stimulate
peristalsis,
the
process
in
the
digestive
tract
that
makes
us
head
for
the
bathroom.
As
stomach's
contents
quickly
pass
into
the
small
intestines,
many
times
the
food
is
improperly
digested
and
body
fails
to
absorb
all
the
essential
nutrients
in
the
food.
4.Mineral
deficiency
Coffee
affects
iron
absorption
in
your
stomach
and
particularly
your
kidneys
ability
to
retain
calcium,
zinc,
magnesium
and
other
important
minerals.
From
a
digestive
standpoint,
deficiency
in
magnesium
is
particularly
worrying
as
it
is
necessary
to
maintain
bowel
regularity.
5.Acid
Levels
Drinking
coffee
on
an
empty
stomach,
such
as
first
thing
in
the
morning,
stimulates
hydrochloric
acid
production.
This
can
be
a
problem
because
HCL
should
only
be
produced
to
digest
meals.
By
affecting
the
production
of
essential
digestive
acids,
it
leads
to
lots
of
side
effects
regarding
digestive
system
and
processes
related
to
it.
6.Stress
and
Tension
Drinking
lots
of
coffee
will
promote
the
release
of
the
stress
hormones
cortisol,
epinephrine
and
norepinephrine.
These
chemicals
increase
your
body's
heart
rate,
blood
pressure
and
tension
levels.
7.Bone
mineral
deficiency
Consuming
higher
than
normally
permissible
levels
of
coffee
on
a
daily
basis,
increases
loss
of
bone
mineral
density.
Caffeine
is
a
mild
diuretic,
speeding
up
the
urination
cycle,
but
erodes
calcium
which
is
lost
through
urine.
Long
term,
heavy
caffeine
use
leads
to
a
rapid
development
of
osteoporosis.
