Skimmed Milk - Is It A Complete Nutrition Solution?

Skimmed milk might be rich in vital nutrients, but there have been a few researches that claim this milk is not actually good for the body. Let us check out some of the less known nutritional facts about skimmed milk.
Skim milk Vs Whole Milk
1.Skimmed milk, as well know, does not consist of fat that is available in whole milk. But the vitamin A and D present in the fat of whole milk, promote better absorption of protein and calcium. However, this fat is not present in the skimmed milk. This forces the body to absorb nutrients from the body itself, thus actually reducing the nutrients stored in our body.
2.This milk undergoes pasteurization, which actually destroys important enzymes and the protein structure of the milk. It is always better to consume raw milk as it can be easily digested. It is specially beneficial to people who are lactose intolerant.
3.During the process of preparation of skimmed milk, all the fat is removed making it too watery for consumption. To make this milk thick, dried milk protein is added, which cannot be easily absorbed by the body.
4.Most of the skim milk brands proclaim to have more nutrients. However, this is not true, as they do it just for the sake of increasing sales. In the process of inducing extra nutrients in the milk, many of the nutrients lose the natural structure and become difficult to be broken down by the body for absorption.
Though there are claims of skimmed milk being the perfect substitute for whole milk, this mis-conception has to be cleared. Instead of having only skimmed milk, you can have both whole milk and skimmed milk in equal quantities to get the best benefits. So the next time you reach for a skimmed milk packet for weight loss, do not forget to pick a whole milk packet too!
