The health benefits of rice are:
Energy: Rice is rich in carbohydrates which acts as a fuel to provide energy and aids in normal functioning of the brain. Rice is cholesterol rich i.e, it does not contain bad cholesterol like sodium and fat so it forms an integral part of a balanced diet.
Heart diseases: Rice bran oil is believed to have antioxidant properties which promote cardiovascular strength while reducing cholesterol levels in the body.
High blood pressure: The low quantity of sodium in rice makes it an agent to control blood pressure. It is considered best food for people suffering from high blood pressure and heart diseases.
Cancer Prevention: Grain rice like the brown rice is rich in fiber which protects the body against many types of cancer. The rice fibers does not let the cancerous cells affect the body thus adding to the health benefits of rice.
Dysentery: Three months old rice plant's husks is believed to contain diuretic properties which cures dysentery. The husk part of rice is considered as a medicine to cure stomach ailments and indigestion problems apart from increasing appetite.
Skin Care: According to experts, powdered rice cures skin ailments like acne and pigmentation. In India, rice water is an ayurvedic ointment to cool inflamed skin and also during stomach upset.
So, a cup of rice/ brown rice a day will keep your body energetic and healthy whilst protecting it from diseases like cancer and heart issues.
