Save Your Vision From Computers

Have you noticed sudden swelling in an eye, or experience burning, tired and watering eyes? You might be suffering the Computer Vision Syndrome. Due to increased dependency on computers for educational and professional needs, millions across the globe are now suffering the Computer Vision Syndrome. The common symptom of this vision disorder are headache, inability to focus, burning or tired eyes, double or blurred vision, and neck and shoulder pain.

Constant vision disorder further may lead to serious eye vision disabilities, weak eye sight and in most cases even night blindness. In recent times, computer vision syndrome are being faced even by children who have become dependent on computers for the sake of education as well as entertainment. Here are ways to prevent computer vision disorder -

1.Computer Position – It is usually a tendency to keep the monitor close, which is harmful to your vision. Place your monitor 20-24 inches from your eyes, with the screen 10-15 degrees below the eyes. This provides your eyes the ease to read the text without straining your eyes.

2.Palming – Rub both palms against each other, till it is warm and place it on your eyes. This helps to relax the strained eyes muscles and rejuvenates them, thus, preventing vision disorder.

3.Eye Exercise – To save yourself from eye sight problems, one should do some eye exercise everyday after whole days work. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and move your eyes first clockwise and then anti-clockwise. Blink your eyes several times and make sure that when you open your eyes, you are looking at the greenery outside. Looking at green soothes your eye sight.

4.Use Tea Bags – For tired and puffy eyes, place a wet tea bag over the eyes. This not only soothes the eyes but at the same time relaxes it and cures the puffiness.

5.Diet – Support your eyes with proper diet. Increase consumption of Vitamin A, C and E on daily basis. Your diet should include citrus fruits, green vegetables, tomatoes, spinach, poultry and dairy products.

These five steps are important to prevent eyes from computer vision disorder and should be done everyday. After your days work when your shut your system, make sure you are not spending long hours before the television. Give your eyes some rest.
