People with heavy pockets have started opting for liposuction to remove the stubborn fat deposits from their body which doesn't reduce even after strict dieting.

Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty has become a widely practiced surgery. It was originated in the United States among celebrities and its popularity spread to the rest of the world gradually. The surgery is considered as a quick fix to body problems.

As two sides of the coin, the surgery has got both good effects and side effects. Looking linear at one advantage of loosing weight and getting your dream figure is not the end of it. There are minimal side effects of liposuction which has to be well known before taking the decision.

They are:
Scarring: the most common side effect of this surgery is scars which appears on the skin where the cannula (hollow tube which sucks the fat deposits out) is inserted. Though the scar is very small, almost the size of a small nail scratch, it may or not fade easily. Depending on the skin type and other factors like smoking habits, scars heal. It is very important to avoid sun rays from falling on the affected skin as tanning will make the scar darker and more visible.

Swelling, Bruising: after the surgery, you might find heavy swelling, bruising and discoloration in the treated are. It is not very dangerous as they are temporary and will fade away in few days or weeks depending on the recovery. However, medications recommended by doctors can bring relief.

Dimpling: this is an indentation or a dimple and this side effect can only appear if the doctor doesn't remove the fat deposits in equal amounts from all the sides of the treated area. This side effect is very uncommon due to the experienced doctors and technological advancements. If some dimpling is located then the doctor will fix it by repeating the procedure on the left out area. The revision procedure of treating dimpling can be done in the form of non surgical liposuction so as to save you from a long recovery period.

Severe complications related to the surgery is rare but it is important to know the unexpected effects like adverse effect to anesthesia, cardiac arrest, internal blood clots, excessive bleeding, allergic reactions to medication, seizures, brain damage from anesthesia

So, these are the minimal side effects which are temporary and can be cured but it is advisable to consult your doctor if you are planning to get the liposuction surgery and be prepared to face it.
