Health Tips For Computer Use
Computer is an inevitable part of our daily life and with the IT sector being the bread and butter for many, we are under the glare of computers 24x7. We all are aware of computer health risks but cannot avoid it as we cannot imagine work without it. Some of the common health risk of computer use on health is shoulder and neck pain, back pain, eye strain, waist pain, weight gain and social rejection. These risks of computer use is well known but computer is inevitable. Thus, here are some health tips for computer use-
1.Exercise – Exercise is the only way out from all the body pains which your computer causes you. If you are running out of time then do some exercise in the office. In intervals stretch yourself, rotate your neck clockwise and anti-clockwise, Stretch your fingers, hands and legs in intervals to save them from cramping.
2.Walk – Most of us run short of time due to work pressure, so, the best health tip for computer use is to walk. Walking is a complete exercise. If not a morning or evening walk, take a break from your job and walk for about 10 minutes. Walk at intervals. This helps you in preventing weight gain, waist pain and also refreshes you.
3.Maintain Your Posture – One of the main reasons for health risk of computer use is to maintain the right posture. Most of us have the habit of slouching in front of computer, which is the worst thing to do. The health tip for computer use are the following - your eye level should be at the level of your computer screen, the computer should be place at a distance where you can see clearly, your hands should always rest when you type and keep your shoulders relaxed.
4.Eat Right – If you thought that only physical work made you feel hungry then you are wrong. Mental work makes you feel more hungry and you end up mulching all day long. This leads to weight gain. The health tip for computer use is to avoid eating junk while working. Time your meals and make sure you go for a walk after eating your meal. This will increase your metabolism rate.
5.Relax Your Eyes – Your eyes are worst effected while working on a computer. Relax your eyes after intervals. Close your eyes at intervals to put it at ease. Rub your palms and then place it over your eyes. Hold this position for another 15 minutes. You will feel your eyes relaxed and then continue working. This will avoid straining your eyes.
