Don't Smoke Up With Contraceptive Pills

According to Dr.Codori, birth control pills are safe for some women and not safe for others. Each body reacts to the pills differently, as is the case with any other medicine The pills contain two hormones oestrogen and progestogen. This stops the hormones from ovulating and also thickens the secretion from the cervix, thus making it difficult for the sperms to get through. These hormones has a certain effect on the body like creating stress, fever, nausea etc.
For more serious side effects, risk to heart, blood clots, high blood pressure, liver diseases etc are to name a few. These side effects of contraceptive pills can be also attributed with the combination of some of your habits. Smoking and contraceptive pills never go hand in hand.
Even doctors have concluded that contraceptive pills and smoking should never be done together. It has inverse effect on the women and may also result in serious illness, which includes effect on the reproductive system. The pill in itself adds on to the body's stress level. Smoking with contraceptive pills only makes the situation worse. Nicotin in itself adds on to the risk of weak heart, blood pressure. Smoking and contraceptive pills puts additional stress on the blood vessel.
According to a study, a woman increases her heart attack risk by 30% if she is both on smoking and contraceptive pills. High blood pressure is also one of the factors.
