Castor Oil, A Boon For Body!

Even after its strong unpleasant taste, castor oil benefits is utilized in cosmetics, soaps, textiles, medicines, massage oils and many other everyday products.
Few castor oil benefits are as follows:
Stomach Problems: It is an effective medicine to cure constipation and diarrhea. You can mix the oil with juice and have it to reduce the bitter taste without affecting the laxative effects. It fights to kill ringworms (a fungal infection) with its active compound, undecylenic acid. It also treats gastrointestinal problems.
Menstrual Disorder: Ricinoleic acid in the oil helps open menstruation in cases of delayed or stopped menstruations. It helps give relieve from menstrual cramps. It stimulates secretion of milk in pregnant women due to the presence of fatty acids in it. However, it should be taken in low doses to avoid adverse effects on the infant. It also reduces labor pain among pregnant women.
Skin Problems: Castor oil contains ricinoleic acid which has anti-inflammatory benefits on the skin. It treats minor cuts, burns, sunburns and skin disorders such as acne and eczema. It serves as a natural emollient which stimulates the production of collagen and elastin that hydrate the skin, moisturizes it and makes it smoother and flawless. Castoroil removes wrinkles, repairs and rejuvenates the skin and if applied regularly, it also helps diminish dark circles under the eyes.
Hair: 'Castor oil is for hair', is the most commonly known usage of the oil. It treats all hair problems like hair scarcity and hair fall. It stimulates hair growth and is applied even on eye lashes if the eyelashes are very thin. The germicidal and insecticidal properties apart from the fungicidal properties of ricinoleic acid and ricin in the oil protect the scalp from microbial and fungal infections. The fatty acids in the oil prevent the scalp from drying and keep it moisturized.
It is not very healthy or nutritious oil and this is why it is mostly used in industries than in edibles. It is applied and not eaten much. Castor oil benefits on health is due to its germicidal, toxic, purgative and disinfectant properties.
