Food For Healthy Smile
Some foods may cause tooth decay, but there are some, which will naturally fight bacteria, remove plaque, strengthen enamel and freshen breath. Read to know how to own a healthy smile naturally. Chew in the right food for the white and healthy food.
Cereals: Eat a handful of raw celery or carrot once a day. Chewing of celery produces plenty of saliva, which will neutralize bacteria streptococcus that causes cavities. Additionally it massages gums and cleans between teeth.
Sesame seeds: Sesame seeds help you slough off plaque and build tooth enamel. It also helps preserve the bone around your teeth and gums. You can add them in salads or steamed vegetables atleast three times a week
Cheese: Cheese provides several benefits to your teeth as it has low carbohydrates and high calcium and phosphate content. These factors will help to balance an acidic pH that encourages the growth of cavity causing bacteria. It also preserves and rebuilds tooth enamel and produces saliva that kills the bacteria and causes cavities and gum diseases. So before going to bed eat 1-inch cube of cheese.
Kiwis: The tropical fruit kiwi has more Vitamin C than any other fruit. To stop the break down of collagen network in your gums that makes your gums tender and more susceptible to the bacteria eat a sliced kiwi early in the morning.
Edible East Asian Mushrooms: Shiitake Mushrooms or edible East Asian mushroom having a golden or dark brown to blackish cap prevents mouth bacteria from creating plaque. Get started add 4-5 sliced of shiitakes to soups.
Green tea: Green tea kills the bacteria in your mouth that causes bad breath. It also wipes out bacteria that turn sugar into plaque. Drink nearly 5 cups of green tea everyday. It is better if you drink tea that is made the previous day and kept in thermos.
Onions: they just remind you of the stinking smell that they leave behind when eaten raw. However a lab test proves that onions kill various types of bacteria. So, don't forget to include them in salads and sandwiches every day. Make sure you brush your teeth later.
Mint Leaves: chewing mint leaves after a spicy meal will let you have a sweet smelling breath whole day long. Add fresh springs while garnishing your favourite food for that odour to last for a longer period.
Water: Drink water as it acts as a defense against the bacteria that causes plaque and cavities. Rinsing your mouth with water every time you eat something will wash away the trapped food that decompose in mouth that will only lead to bad breath. Drink atleast 3-4 liters of water everyday.
Avoid: avoid eating soft and sticky food as it gets between the teeth providing a favorable place for bacteria to grow. Do not drink a soft drink directly use a straw instead. Avoid food with high concentration of sugar rather eat more nutritious foods with less sugar as milk, rice, meat, fruits and fish etc.
