They are protein rich, low in fat and fibrous; in a nutshell they are healthy legumes that you must have. Chickpeas are predominantly of 3 types- white which is called Kabuli Chana in India, Brown which is called lal chana and green which is known as hara chana. These pulses are foods with very little fats and those too come from the proteins present in it. Chickpeas contain an essential nutrient called argnine which boosts the immune system.
