These pulses are foods for strength. When a person is recovering from a serious illness, he or she is given red lentil soup or masoor dal (as it is called in Hindi). Apart from being rich in dietary fibres and a power house of proteins, Red lentils contain a nutrient called Molybdenum. This particular chemical helps regulate some of the most important enzymes in the body and it's deficiency can lead to brain damage.
