FACT SHEET: Human beings are the only animals that continue to consume milk in some form or the other after being weaned away from mother's milk. Is that why the human baby is so helpless and does not learn to fend for itself like the young ones of other animals? It is not scientifically proven but sure is food for thought.

- Milk and Indigestion: Milk is a mighty difficult food to digest. Especially for old people whose digestive power is diminished milk is sure to cause indigestion and loose motions. There is no replacement for mother's milk but you feed the baby milk from an external source the stomach infections will start. As babies are on an exclusive milk diet they give what are 'milk farts'. It may invoke laughter from bystanders but the crux of the matter is that the baby is gassy and probably uncomfortable. Even for normal adults milk is known to provoke gas formation in the stomach and nasty smelling belches too.
- Milk reduces Nutrition of Beverages: If milk is really good for you then why is it more advisable to drink black tea or green tea as opposed to adding milk? Milk destroys the antioxidants in the liquor by default reducing its benefits for us. If there would be no doubt as milk being good or bad for us then the very concept of drinking black coffee, black tea and herbal tea would not be there.
- Animal Milk: All the milk that we drink after mother milk is obtained from animals. Firstly that should make vegetarians uncomfortable because that doesn't leave much difference between eggs and milk. Secondly it is very easy for infections to travel from the parent animal to the milk drinker. If the milk giving animal is sick, which is a high possibility considering there sanitary conditions then there a very good chance that the germs will come to you via milk.
Whether or not milk is good for you can either be decided either by you or your doctor. A glass of cold milk might do you good once in a while but milk generally does not suit everybody.
