Kannada Actor Vijay Raghavendra's Wife Spandana Passes Away At 44: How To Reduce Heart Attack Risk?
Spandana, the wife of Kannada film actor-director Vijay Raghavendra died in Bangkok on Monday, family sources said. She was 44 years old. Spandana was visiting Bangkok with her cousins, and Raghavendra had joined them after completing his filming schedules.
"Last night she went to sleep and did not get up in the morning. We believe it (death) is due to (complications arising from) low blood pressure," Raghavendra informed his family from Bangkok.

Her sudden demise has left the industry in shock. And while the loss is irreparable, this serves as a reminder of the importance of taking extra care of our heart health.
How To Reduce Heart Attack Risk?
The number of heart attack deaths in young people is on a constant rise in India [1]. Taking care of our heart health is crucial to prevent heart attacks and maintain overall well-being. Here are some important tips that can help reduce your heart attack risk:
1. Maintain a healthy diet
- Incorporate more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins into your meals.
- Limit the consumption of saturated fats, cholesterol, and sodium.
- Opt for healthier cooking methods like grilling, baking, or steaming.
2. Engage in regular physical activity
- Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity exercise per week.
- Include activities like brisk walking, cycling, swimming, or dancing.
- Incorporate strength training exercises twice a week to build muscle and improve overall fitness.

3. Quit smoking
- Smoking increases the risk of heart disease and heart attacks.
- Seek professional help or join support groups to quit smoking.
- Explore nicotine replacement therapy options if needed.
4. Manage stress levels
- Chronic stress can contribute to heart disease.
- Practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing exercises, meditation, or yoga.
- Engage in activities that bring joy and help you unwind, such as hobbies, spending time with loved ones, or listening to music.
5. Get regular health check-ups
- Regular check-ups help in identifying any underlying health conditions or risk factors.
- Monitor blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and blood sugar regularly.
- Follow your doctor's advice and take prescribed medications as directed.
